Launching Alabama Students to New Heights
The Challenger Center and its global network of Challenger Learning Centers use space-themed simulated learning and role-playing strategies developed by NASA to bring students' studies to life and ignite their passion for careers in STEM-related fields. It also helps cultivate skills needed for future success such as problem-solving, critical thinking, communication, and collaborative work.
Why a Challenger Learning Center in Alabama
In science and math, student achievement scores in Alabama are lagging behind national averages, while many of the nation’s fastest-growing jobs are in STEM fields. Too many of our children lose interest in crucial STEM subjects early, limiting future opportunities and career options. This project is closely aligned with other educational initiatives in the state.
